Our organisation
Establishment
GreenSeat is part of Climate Neutral Group. This is a Dutch organisation and market leader in the Benelux in carbon reduction and offsetting. Climate Neutral Group is established in 2001 as 'Business for Climate' by parties including Triodos Bank, Doen Foundation (National Postcode Lottery) and Face the Future. After the merger with GreenSeat in January 2007 it was decided to change the name to Climate Neutral Group. GreenSeat remains the premier label for carbon offsetting for air and car travel.
Experience
GreenSeat has years of experience in calculating greenhouse gas emissions for flights and car travel, in developing carbon offset projects and in developing systems for integrating the GreenSeat option in the booking systems of travel agents and airlines. The GreenSeat option is offered by more than 100 travel agents, large and small, and this number continues to grow! In addition to this, every single day many individual passengers visit our website to offset their flight. Worldwide, this makes us one of the frontrunners in this field.
Transparency
GreenSeat serves the community at large so we consider it important to communicate our activities as transparently as possible. You can find detailed information about our projects on our website, as well as quality criteria, supervision of carbon offsets and the calculations that we use. Besides this, each year motherorganisation Climate Neutral Group publishes an annual report that provides a full insight into our financial results plus information about certification, projects and an overview of our customers. And of course the annual report also includes our own carbon footprint. Furthermore, in 2008 we commissioned KPMG to conduct an independent study into our projects.
